Cinnamon is in many recipes not just because it warms our bodies and strengthens immunity but because it lowers blood sugar so great to use with higher carbohydrate foods.
Ingredients:
3 Bananas
150g nut butter
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ginger
1 egg (works without if you prefer though)
250g jumbo porridge oats
Optional: 100g chopped dried fruits or nuts
Recipe:
Preheat the oven to 18 degrees Blend in a food processor or mash up the banana, nutmeg, egg, with the honey or maple syrup. Add a pinch of salt.
Add the banana mix to the oats (and chopped dried fruits) and combine. Pour the mix onto baking paper on a tray or a baking tin. Flatten down and bake into golden brown.
When ready, take out the porridge and slice into bars. Let them cool and store in an airtight container.
