The menopause refers to that time in every woman's life when her periods stop and her ovaries lose their reproductive function. In the UK the average age is 51, but there have been cases of women becoming menopausal in their 30s, or even younger. This is then known as a premature menopause, or premature ovarian insufficiency. This is a post menopausal test only. It is to confirm that you have actually reached the menopause and are no longer peri- menopausal. *Please note, patients must return 7 days after test to have initial test result confirmed.
